Playing around with some long exposure shots on the GoPro! The street shots are of me skating down the street with a flashlight.
Part of the crew on a day trip to B-more to check out some spots and hang out. We stopped by this awesome cement skatepark which has been around for close to 40 years and ripped it up before heading to the city. Most of these parks got destroyed back in the day when skateboarding disappeared from the main stream but this one survived and is now actually considered a historical landmark! We put Lee behind the lens to get a few shots. This is a small collection from that day and a short GoPro video to show the flow of the park. enjoy!
3rd times the charm! Finally got to spend the day here hitting every section of this road one at a time. And yea it was as awesome as I thought it would be All thats left now is get better and hit it again! Here are a few photos and a rough cut of the footage from the runs. Enjoy!
Finally doing another longboard post! Soooo. Ive been wanting to plan a longboard trip to Las Terrenas for a very long time now. The road winds up and down a mountain right next to the ocean. With so many different sections and difficulty levels, that you could be on this road all day long and still not have explored everything. We stuffed a truck with 6 people, 4 board, a few cameras. and headed out. Although we didn’t get to ride the main parts of the road because of weather, ( and very poor planning on my part), we all got a little taste of the greatness this place could be. Here are a few shots from the trip.
Pit Stop at a surf beach on the way back home. Frustrated that no one decided to bring a “water” board… lol. By this point my mind was still on the road the amazing road that we left behind and didnt get to really ride… Next time we will conquer you…
And a rough edit from the trip:
This is another awesome spot. A big park with a long wide road that does one giant lap. Side roads, bike paths, parking lots, even a lake run. This is by far the best spot to learn at, and its always a good time… Here are a few shots of the roads.
Lee on the GoPro for a group run:
Ok so this is the first spot that became the go-to place for weekend riding since a lot of the roads are closed to cars then. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I heard there was a road that was locally famous for longboarding. I convinced my friend to join me and after a bit of exploring, I found the awesome road I now refer to as the bridge run. First time hitting this, an old veteran longboarder passed me at full speed. Thats when I knew great things would happen at this place. Here are some shots from my first visit:
Trus Real cruising down a mellow road. As a kid this man was a beast street skater. Now also a very talented Hip Hop artist. Check out The Coalition
This location is where most of the crew got the first tastes of real speed. Short, smooth, curvy road with a steep final turn. Also being closed on the weekend made this the perfect spot to session. This also the same road where Brandon took me out for the first time. For a summary of what happened, Brandon went balls out on this road on his first time hitting it. He did it with such confidence that I followed him down without thinking twice. Now for anyone hitting this road for the first time, you don’t realize how much speed you actually pick up on the first half. So when you get to that final curve, the speed is no joke. Going too fast to slow down already and on the final curve, I see Brandon get some speed wobbles. Two seconds later he is down right in front of me at full speed. Even though I saw this happening in slow motion, I didn’t have enough time to react to it and I went down as well, sliding right into Brandon. More than anything it was a bit scary but other than that just some road rash, a little blood, and maybe some hurt egos. We got up, laughed it off, and kept on riding!
And I actually don’t have any photos of Brandon on this road but heres one aroud the same area, a bit after the crash. I spy ripped pants 😛 lol
And a luge and Longboard race lol
