Lee on the GoPro for a group run:
Ok so this is the first spot that became the go-to place for weekend riding since a lot of the roads are closed to cars then. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I heard there was a road that was locally famous for longboarding. I convinced my friend to join me and after a bit of exploring, I found the awesome road I now refer to as the bridge run. First time hitting this, an old veteran longboarder passed me at full speed. Thats when I knew great things would happen at this place. Here are some shots from my first visit:
Trus Real cruising down a mellow road. As a kid this man was a beast street skater. Now also a very talented Hip Hop artist. Check out The Coalition
This location is where most of the crew got the first tastes of real speed. Short, smooth, curvy road with a steep final turn. Also being closed on the weekend made this the perfect spot to session. This also the same road where Brandon took me out for the first time. For a summary of what happened, Brandon went balls out on this road on his first time hitting it. He did it with such confidence that I followed him down without thinking twice. Now for anyone hitting this road for the first time, you don’t realize how much speed you actually pick up on the first half. So when you get to that final curve, the speed is no joke. Going too fast to slow down already and on the final curve, I see Brandon get some speed wobbles. Two seconds later he is down right in front of me at full speed. Even though I saw this happening in slow motion, I didn’t have enough time to react to it and I went down as well, sliding right into Brandon. More than anything it was a bit scary but other than that just some road rash, a little blood, and maybe some hurt egos. We got up, laughed it off, and kept on riding!
And I actually don’t have any photos of Brandon on this road but heres one aroud the same area, a bit after the crash. I spy ripped pants 😛 lol
And a luge and Longboard race lol
